As artists, we put our work out to the public in hopes to invoke thought and for others to see how we perceive the world. We have ideas that are produced and others that are lingering on paper or in thought, and when the idea is ready for the world to see, it's hoped to be seen with accepting eyes whether it's for yourself or for the public. I have two particular photoshoots that have always been a thought but never achieved for the fact that I want to make sure they're perfect in my eyes and perfect to the way I think they should be told.
Bonnie & Clyde is one of those Bucketlist sessions.

I have been in love with the story of Bonnie & Clyde for years and always wanted to do a session based around them, but never felt like I could do their story justice. When I saw that Hunter Leone was hosting another B&C workshop, I knew I had to be there. The morning of registration, I waited on the computer for it to open and within 10 minutes, it was sold out.. but I was one of the lucky people to attend! I've been to several photo conferences before but never one that only had 10 people attending. It was in Shreveport, LA and it worked out beautifully because we had plans to head to Dallas, TX that week. A quick flight to the next state over and I was ready to learn. Hunter talked about how he set up these themed sessions to how he does makeup and costumes. We learned how to get published and sat around and chatted about the ghost that haunted his studio. (No joke, this "ghost" even showed itself at one point. Ya'll. WE WERE SO FREAKED OUT). It was so laid back and fun. I mean, the car setup was done in his parents backyard. It doesn't get more laid back then that. I made some new friends and gained connections across the states all while creating beautiful photos and telling the story of Bonnie & Clyde.
At the end of the second day of shooting, everyone was exhausted but while I sat there watching Hunter pose the two models, (who had just met that day), I got chills thinking about the actual Bonnie and Clyde and what their story was. Two kids wanting more to life then living in poverty. They made a name for themselves, even if they were ruthless in doing so. And all while falling in love with each other.
