I want to start by saying, this blog idea has been sitting in my drafts for over a year... I had this idea to write about one of my favorite passages from a book I picked up in college called The Element by Sir Ken Robinson, but every time I started to write on this particular topic I never found the right time to publish it. With this crazy time of year it seemed like a perfect time to write down my thoughts and maybe someone else can find it helpful and enlightening.

As I mentioned, I picked up The Element in college after doing a project about finding your passion and pursuing it. It's a very inspiring read and if you're looking for something positive in your life, I highly suggest picking up this book. This last month, the quality of character and outlook on behavior was put to test. It's one of those things that you have to just push through and allow for time to heal any wounds that came from it. And in the process of events, we all learn lessons and take from that experience of how to prevent and manage such events in a better way for the future. Robinson puts this scenario in perspective better then I've ever seen anyone else put it. We are just tiny specs in the universe around us and in the end, does whatever is bothering you truly matter in the grand scheme of life? Will whatever you're going through today matter in a couple weeks, 6 months, or even a year? After everything that happened, I keep telling myself, this will blow over... It really doesn't matter. There comes a time when you truly must let things go and move on. And you ask yourself... What can I put my energy towards that will actually be worth spending my time on instead of sitting behind a computer screen worrying about what someone else thinks or says. I have found what I'm passionate about and keeping myself invested into loving my family, building a better business, and becoming a successful photographer is all that matters to me.

Please take the time to read through this passage and look at the photos. Hopefully whatever you're going through, this will help put everything into perspective.
