Now for my thoughts on the Edge 35 for portraits. I recently posted about what, in my opinion, would be the best optic to start with if you're comfortable shooting at a certain focal range. For me that is the 80-85 mm. It's like magic in my hands and it just works for me. I know I'm not a wide angle portrait photographer. I've tried it and maybe I just haven't found my happy spot yet, BUT that didn't stop me from doing some portrait work with the Edge 35. Guess what, I didn't hate it! Maybe it was the fact that it was from the Edge series and I'm most comfortable with that particular line, but I found that I was able to work much better with it then the Sweet 35. Preference I guess?
I think what I loved most about this particular session was being able to get up close and capture moments shown just between them and yet be able to step back and get a wide shot with the entire scenery. The Edge 35 is truly a versatile optic.
So thank you so much to Dani & Joey for letting me use ya'll as models. You guys are the best!
